Ocean Infinity concludes renewed search without findings

Ocean Infinity has concluded its renewed underwater search for MH370, departing the southern Indian Ocean on 23 January 2026 without any confirmed findings.

The company surveyed more than 140,000 square kilometres of seabed across two operational phases: an initial phase in late March 2025, and a second phase running from 30 December 2025 to 23 January 2026. No wreckage attributable to the aircraft was located during either phase.

The search was conducted under the existing "no find, no fee" agreement with the Malaysian government, under which Ocean Infinity receives a $70 million USD payment only upon successful recovery of major wreckage. No payment is due following the current conclusion.

Officials described the search area covered as one of the most technically challenging in deep-sea survey history, citing the depth, remoteness, and environmental conditions of the southern Indian Ocean. Approximately 7,428 square kilometres of the defined search zone remain unsurveyed.

This site will continue monitoring official statements regarding any future search activity.
